ECM Server
The setup item ECM Server includes all relevant data for establishing the information transfer between an ECM system and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
The "General" FastTab
The General FastTab is used to specify the technical information for the connection between the ECM server and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
The following table provides an overview of the individual fields and their meaning:
Field |
Meaning |
Code |
The server code can be arbitrarily specified. Setting up multiple ECM systems side by side and, depending on the server code stored in the document definitions, addressing them is possible. |
Name |
Description of the set up server. |
ECM System |
Selecting the ECM system used. Available for selection are:
|
Host |
Archive server's http address. |
Port |
Port of the archive server via which the interface communicates. |
Website |
Website via which the ECM system can be reached. (Automatically pre-set) |
Authentication type |
|
Request Timeout |
Time limit for queries to the ECM system, in milliseconds. |
Write Timeout |
Time limit for write operations for the ECM system, in milliseconds. |
Stream Buffer Size |
The buffer size for the data stream between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and an ECM system. The default value is 65536 bytes. |
ECM server version |
Option for closer differentiation / determination of the ECM server.
|
ECM Company Name |
Company name to ensure archival is under the correct company in the archive. |
Versioning |
Allows versioning documents for this Archive server. |
The "OAuth Authentication" FastTab
Here you can configured parameters for OAuth2 authentication. For general questions about the procedure, you will find more information here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/develop/v2-oauth2-auth-code-flow.
The following table provides an overview of the individual fields and their meaning:
Field |
Meaning |
Client ID |
Indicates the client ID of the OAuth application or Azure Active Directory application used for establishing a connection to the ECM system or SharePoint environment |
Secret client |
Indicates the secret of the OAuth application or Azure Active Directory application used for establishing a connection to the ECM system or SharePoint environment |
Authorization URL |
The URL where the token for OAuth 2 authentication for the connection to Dynamics 365 BC is requested is stored here.
|
Redirection URL |
Indicates the redirection URL of the Azure Active Directory application that is used as a point of reply to build a connection to the SharePoint environment/ECM environment. |
Area |
Defines the set of permissions requested by the application. Areas may be static (with /.default ) or dynamic. This group may contain the OpenID connect areas (openid, profile, email). If you require application permissions, you need to use /.default to request the statically configured list of permissions.
The scope parameter is a list of delegated permissions, separated by spaces, which are requested by the app. The individual permissions are, respectively, specified by appending the permission value to the resource name (application ID URI). The request in the example indicates that the application requires permission to read the user's calendar and to send e-mails as users.
|
Prompt interaction |
Here you can control which user action is additionally required when using an authorization principle:
|
The "EASY ENTERPRISE ECM server" FastTab
This FastTab is used to specify information that is relevant to the EASY ENTERPRISE ECM server.
The following table provides an overview of the individual fields and their meaning:
Field |
Meaning |
Instance |
The option to address a specific instance on the archive system is available: for example, to work with various companies in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the archive, or to switch between test system and production system. |
EE.i Reader pool |
You can enter a pool for an EE.i Reader here. If you require access to documents stored using an old EASY archiving system (EE.i), the EE.x server provides the capability of setting up an EE.i Reader. This Reader can be accessed from MS Dynamics 365 BC, so old documents can also be displayed in the client. |
Time offset UTC |
Time offset from Universal Time Coordinated which is used to set the time stamp in the archive. |
Time Offset UTC fixed |
Definition of the time offset from Universal Time Coordinated for the time stamp which this archive server will use. |
Trusted ECM User ID |
Here you can specify a Trusted Login. If these fields are filled, the Trusted User is automatically passed to EASY for login instead of the Windows user name. Trusted Login offers the advantage that no user mapping needs to be set up in EASY for
Dynamics
365 BC. If Trusted Login is not used, the users logged on to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central must also be set up as users in EASY Archive for EASY Archive access. Every time Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accesses EASY Archive, a concurrent or named EASY license is occupied, and then immediately released again at logout. |
Trusted ECM Password |
|
ECM Link system |
These fields allow you to define the URL of an EASY Documents server and required suffixes for access via QuickView. |
