Solution Architecture and Description

Generally, the Dynamics 365 Business Central Web client works with the EASY Archive server or the SharePoint Server via th e Dynamics 365 Business Central server (service tier). Time-driven storage / archiving and import monitoring are performed by the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Standard task queue in connection with the Navision Application Server (NAS) in the Dynamics 365 BC service tier.

Communication between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Service Tier Server and the EASY Archive server or SharePoint Server takes place via Web services.

When using EASY for Dynamics 365 BC, three essentially different procedures need to be distinguished, depending on the document origin:

  1. storing/archiving internal documents which were created in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central itself, e.g. sales invoices.

  2. storing/archiving external documents which the respective company receives in paper format and which are digitized and archived through scanning, e.g. purchase invoices.

  3. storing/archiving external files which are captured via drag and drop, and are stored for a record in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, such as PDF and Office files, e-mail messages, drawings, Excel calculations, covering letters in Word, and the like.

These differences are not only relevant because of the different origins of the documents, but also because of the different options for assigning documents to processes.
